new principal with board members

Otsego High School welcomes a new principal for the first time in 22 years. Thomas Reed began at OHS in July.

“I'm tremendously grateful to be chosen as the next leader of Otsego High School. This is a school district and community with a deep history of excellence and I'm honored to continue that tradition,” Reed says.

Reed most recently served as the Lawrence Jr./Sr. High School principal for the last five years. He was the LHS assistant Principal and athletic director the prior year.

Reed grew up and attended school in the small town of Eau Claire “where I  learned first hand the power of relationships between teachers, students, parents, and community members. Public schools are cornerstones of our towns and have the rare ability to change students' life trajectories in a positive way, and I went into education to be part of that change,” Reed says. He attended Grace College in Northern Indiana then returned to Eau Claire to begin his career teaching middle school math and coaching several sports including middle school football, wrestling and track.

Thomas and his wife, Kali, have a daughter, Anna, who just turned a year old this summer, and two wirehaired pointers named Molly and Sage. Reed enjoys beekeeping, camping and spending time in the woods with their dogs. “I am also a big reader and am currently working my way through biographies of all of the U.S. Presidents.”

“I'm most excited about meeting the students, staff, and families here at Otsego!”

There will be a Meet the Principals night for all OHS students and families on Thursday, August 25th from 5:30-6:30pm (open house) outside the main entrance of the high school, prior to the first home football game.
