Meet the Class of 2024's Top of the Class!
Otsego High School is honoring 28 students for graduating with distinction meaning they will graduate with a 4.0 GPA or above. This year’s valedictorian is Joel DeBoer, who is graduating with a GPA of 4.36. This year’s salutatorian is Wybie Burke, who is graduating with a GPA of 4.32. Otsego’s Class of 2024 has 157 students.
Valedictorian
Joel DeBoer will attend Michigan State University to major in Computer Science. Joel was on the soccer team (captain) and involved in the National Honor Society (treasurer).
Salutatorian
Wybie Burke will attend the University of Michigan to major in Engineering. Wybie participated in choir, robotics and National Honor Society at OHS.
Graduating with Distinction:
Aly Aldrich will attend the University of Florida to major in Mechanical Engineering. Aly was a 4-year, 3-sport athlete playing varsity tennis, volleyball and basketball; she was a captain for each. She was also involved with the purple committee, student council (secretary), National Honor Society (vice president), book club, ESS (Empowering Students to Serve) Club, DC Strong and was a student ambassador for Van Andel Institute.
Grace Blanchard will attend Glen Oaks Community College to major in Business; she will also be on the school’s softball team. Grace was a part of the National Honor Society, Student Council and the varsity volleyball and softball teams (2-year captain).
Brooklyn Carroll will attend Michigan State University to major in Biology / Animal Science. Brooklyn was involved with the National Honor Society and Track & Field team.
Grace Clayton is joining the United States Army to be an Army Aviator. Grace was a part of the National Honor Society, marching, concert and symphonic bands where she performed multiple times at state solo/ensemble. She was the trumpet section leader her senior year and was also chosen for the All-Star band at Western Michigan University this year.
Andrew Conniff will attend Western Michigan University to major in Engineering. Andrew was on the soccer team, Robotics team and National Honor Society.
Avery Davis will attend Kalamazoo College to major in Biology. Avery was on the soccer team (captain), and part of the National Honor Society (president), Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, TAG Team and her youth group.
Benjamin Ernstes will attend Calvin University to major in Nursing; he will also be a part of Calvin’s football and track & field teams.
Megan Germain will attend Michigan State University to major in Kinesiology. Megan was on the cross country and track teams where she was the MVP and captain and earned All-State honors multiple years. She was also involved in the National Honor Society.
Chad Goodrich will attend Western Michigan University to major in Aerospace Engineering. Chad was a part of the football, track, and Robotics teams and was involved in band all four years. He was the section leader for both marching and symphonic bands. He was also the principle bassoon player in the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra.
Sydney Grile will attend Virginia Tech University to major in Political Science. Sydney was on the student council, National Honor Society, purple committee, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and Allegan County TAG Team. She participated in, and was the captain her senior year of the golf and tennis teams.
Reaghan Higgins will attend the University of Michigan to major in Environmental and Earth Sciences. Reaghan participated in student council, National Honor Society, Envirothon and CTE Conservation Biology class. She was also on the tennis team.
Carly Jacobs will attend either Kalamazoo Valley Community College or Youth with a Mission (YWAM). Carly was involved with Bulldog Buddies, Younglife, National Honor Society, student council, book club, purple committee (Van Andel Institute Student Ambassador), prom committee, and SADD. She was also on the golf team, was a senior class officer and the junior class president.
Liliana Koehl will attend Loyola University Maryland to major in Accounting. Lily was involved in the National Honor Society, Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, Varsity Swimming (2x Captain), Tennis, and the Otsego Swim Club.
Kyle Lingbeek will attend Adrian College to major in Business Administration; he will also be on the school’s baseball team. Kyle was involved in the National Honor Society and was on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Bryce Meyer is attending the Air Force Academy. Bryce was on the Swim & Dive team and involved in the National Honor Society.
Anna Moore will attend Central Michigan University to major in Dietetics. She was involved in student council (president, vice president, National Honor Society, prom committee, SADD and played varsity tennis. She was also the student representative for the Health and Reproductive committee and a Younglife student leader.
Zoe Peterson will attend Western Michigan University to major in Marketing. Zoe participated in the National Honor Society, ISA (International Student Ambassador), Varsity Swim and Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council; she was also a class officer.
Kristofer Saucedo will attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College to major in Computer Information Systems. He was on the soccer team.
Stephanie Scott will attend Ferris State University to major in Construction Management. Stephanie participated in the National Honor Society, SADD, and was on the Varsity golf and soccer (captain) teams.
Chelsea Smith will attend Western Michigan University to major in Elementary Education. Chelsea was on the Robotics team, auditorium tech crew, student council and National Honor Society. She was also on the tennis and sideline cheer teams and sang in the OHS choir.
Hunter Sunnerville will attend Western Michigan University to major in Nursing. Hunter participated in the National Honor Society, Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, SADD and Jump Start, he was also on the Swim & Dive team (captain).
Brennon Syers will attend the University of Michigan to major in Mechanical Engineering. Brennon participated in the Robotics team and played football.
Nolan VanderRoest will attend Grand Canyon University in Arizona and major in Mechanical Engineering. Nolan was a part of the football (2-year captain), basketball, golf and track teams.
Saxon Vandervest will attend Michigan Technological University to major in Mechanical Engineering. Saxon was on the track & field team, and Robotics (2-year captain) team.
Braeden Vorndran will complete the Early College Allegan County program with Lake Michigan College then attend Grand Valley State University to major in Secondary Education. Braeden participated in band all four years playing in the marching, concert, symphonic, pep and jazz bands and attended several solo and ensemble festivals. He was also a four-year honor student.
Landen Yocum will attend Western Michigan University to major in Theatre Tech/Design. Landen participated in band all four years and was drum major for two years. He was on the Robotics team, was a lead auditorium tech crew member and production director for multiple events; he was also involved in National Honor Society.
