Seniors Jack Thrall and Gabe James will continue to be teammates after graduation. They both committed to Lake Michigan College to play soccer.

Thrall is looking forward to “better competition and succeeding at a higher level.” He’s been playing soccer for 10 years and looks forward to continuing his game as a forward. His favorite high school soccer moment was beating Plainwell in Districts his freshman year.

Both Thrall and James have been 4-year varsity players and earned several accolades over the years. Despite an injury that sidelined him half of his senior year, Thrall earned All-District (2x), 2nd Team All-Conference, Best attacking player and 2x top goal scorer honors.

James has been Otsego’s go-to goalie for the last two years setting the school record for most saves in a game (29) and most saves in a career (399). He was 1st (Jr.) and 2nd (Sr.) Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-District (2x) and 1st Team All-Region as well as the team MVP the last two years. With stats like that, his top moment is no surprise, “Saving a PK to help my team beat Plainwell 1-0 in 2023.”

James is “excited and blessed” to continue playing soccer in college. “I’m looking forward to harder competition that will help me grow better as a player.” James has also been a part of the football and basketball teams in high school. Thrall also plays baseball.

James plans to major in health science to become a chiropractor; Thrall plans to study Criminal Justice and possibly work in the CIA or FBI in the future.
