“Grateful and excited” to continue playing soccer in college, that’s how senior Lexi Gross is feeling as her future plans take shape.  

Gross has been playing soccer since she was 3 years old and spent time on travel soccer teams as well as OMS and OHS teams. She’s earned a number of awards for her talents. 

  • 1st-Team All-Conference
  • 2nd-Team All-Conference (2x)
  • All-Academic Team award (3x) from the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association
  • MHSSCA Division 3 All-District Team
  • Mikayla Cupp Will to Win Award
  • Best Defender Award (2x)

She has a lot of memorable moments from high school. “Team bonding, beating Plainwell, winning Conference, and beating TK in PK shootouts,” she says. 

Gross will be an outside back for the Kalamazoo College Hornets soccer team. “I’m looking forward to continuing playing the sport I love and playing with a new team full of amazing girls,” she says.

She will major in biology on a pre-med track, “I hope to become a doctor for individuals with intellectual disabilities or contribute to medical advancements for them.”

Gross has been involved with the TKO Premier Club Soccer, National Honor Society LINKS, UCS Special Olympics, Purple Committee, TKO Academy, Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee, STEM Club, ESS (Empowering Students to Serve), International Student Ambassador Program, Lake Community Church Summer Camp Counselor and volunteers weekly at Kauhale Memory Care and Assisted Living Center.
