Lingbeek made it official to join the Western Michigan University softball team, “It feels good because it's one step closer to being in college and competing at a high level,” she says.

She’s been playing softball for 12 years and will be a shortstop and pitcher at the collegiate level, a challenge she’s ready for, “I'm looking forward to the high level of competition and having to fight to earn a spot.”

She’s been a four-year varsity player at Otsego and earned a number of honors. She’s been All-Conference and All-District two years and All-Region her junior year. Her senior year is ahead of her and she’s looking for more success. Her most memorable moment so far was breaking the school record for in-game strikeouts with 19.

Lingbeek will major in pre-law with the career goal of being a lawyer.
