Nyla Reed is ready to “anchor up” as they say at Grand Valley State University and join their Track & Field team. “I feel accomplished. I've always wanted to do a sport in college and after quitting gymnastics I didn't think that was possible,” she says. “In my 3 years of doing track I fell in love with the sport and I'm grateful for being able to continue it for the next four.”
In her short time in the sport, Nyla has racked up major accomplishments. She was a Conference Champ her junior year in long jump and placed 2nd at State. In Indoor competitions this tear, she was 1st in State for triple jump and All-State in long jump. She’ll compete in both events in college and is ready for the next level. “I’m looking forward to having higher competition that can push me to perform my best.”
Nyla is also very involved at school and in the community. She participated in dance, the ESS Club (Empowering Students to Serve) and is a class officer.
Nyla will be a Business major and wants to one day own a hair salon.
